In order to place Zouk Mikael on the Lebanese touristic map, the municipal council launched the construction of an amphitheater having a roman architecture, where they held Zouk Mikael International Festival welcoming national and international artists and bands.

In 1997, the project was handed to the house of architecture.
In 2001, toilets and snacks were built.
In 2002, the municipality council renovated the theatre and the backstage, expanding the amphitheater area in order to welcome 3000 people.

Under the starry sky of Zouk Mikael, the amphitheater filled with fans singing along with famous artists such as Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Tango Passion group, Ziad Rahbani, Najwa Karam, Assi El Hallani, Jihad Akl, Guy Manoukian…
